Talk:Is ASSP for me?
From ASSPSMTP
Based upon this forum discussion: http://www.asspsmtp.org/forums/index.php?topic=89.0 Should this article be updated so as to indicate that it is not only small organizations but larger ones as well? I'd personally shy away from using specific numbers, but rather indicate that ASSP's performance is dependent upon the system (cpu, memory, etc) that it runs upon and the network design its rolled into (clustered servers, nas, database backend).
My experience with other anti-spam solutions only suggests that ASSP's largest short coming is that it is not viewed as a solution that deserves its own server or set of servers. However, in any large environment, if I were provided an infrastructure budget, I'd most certainly be able to architect a solution that leveraged multiple dedicated servers, tied on the back end with a fiber disc array or a NAS for the spam/notspam folders and a db for the various lists. --j 21:05, 30 January 2008 (PST)
