Talk:BombRe and ScriptRe

From ASSPSMTP

These examples are fabulous - however there isn't any description on how to make sure ASSP is utilizing these particular expressions. There are single-line entry spots in the ASSP configuration page instead of a text box or a link to edit a text file (like in other areas). So how do I make a RegEx entry into the ASSP web page that will incorporate all of the suggested BombRe expressions? Changing the ASSP configuration page so that it will utilize a text file that has each new expression on a new line in the file would make this a lot easier. Or even just a brief description on how you can string all of these expressions together into 1 large expression might help. Maybe there should be a separate page about how to work with RegEx in the ASSP web page considering they are used in many spots.

  • The expressions are not made to "be strung into one long expression" thats not how they work, each line works independently of the others. Each expression is one line in the file.
Quoted from the ASSP admin interface (try reading the bottom of the page)
Note: Items marked with an asterisk (*) accept a list separated by | or you can specify a file to read the list from ->
file:filename.txt (relative to ASSP directory base).
Filling in a name as described and pushing "Apply" will give you a button "Edit File".
Push the button, fill data in and save. That creates a file under the given name.
Files should have one entry per line; anything on a line following a numbersign ( #) is ignored (a comment).
Whitespace at the beginning or end of the line is ignored. Do not use empty files!
Example.....if you installed to "C:\ASSP\"; "file:filename.txt" would reference "C:\ASSP\filename.txt" and "file:folder/filename.txt" would reference "C:\ASSP\folder\filename.txt".
Be sure to heed the warning Do not use empty files!
