Plesk on Windows
From ASSPSMTP
When configuring ASSP for Plesk there are some additional steps needed after using the Windows install guide, that works on a Windows Server 2003.
ASSP Configuration
After getting in the ASSP interface, under Network Setup, make sure that SMTP port is set to 25 ( depending on what your clients use, but 25 is the most often used port ). Also, make sure you set the SMTP Destination to 127.0.0.1:125 ( even if you change this port, make sure it`s not the same as the SMTP port that ASSP listens for incoming SMTP connections. We use 127.0.0.1 to tell the ASSP to forward the emails after processing to a unique internal ip.
So far so good, save the changes if any have been changed.
MailEnable Configuration
Now comes the MailEnable configuration part. Plesk comes with MailEnable standard, but this configuration should work for the Pro and Enterprise versions too. We need to start the MailEnable configuration panel, so click Start > Run > type mailenable.msc, press Ok. This should launch the MailEnable configuration tab.
Go to MailEnable Management > Servers > localhost > Connectors.
In the right screen, right click SMTP then click Properties.
Under the Inbound tab, set the SMTP service listens on port : to port 125 ( this is the ASSP destination port ). Under the same tab, you have a place called : Inbound IP Bindings.
Tick : Only bind to these selected IP addresses, and tick only 127.0.0.1 . Disable the rest of the ips that may appear in the scroll.
Press the Ok on the screen.
Now restart the ASSP proxy service ( access my running services.msc in Run ), and everything should be aok.
NB. You may have issues with open relay or relay not being allowed. In this case, create a file in assp, something.txt, put all your domains, one under the other ( with subdomains too, if you have them set as accounts ), and edit in ASSP interface, under Relaying, the Local Domains. Put in the field : file:files/something.txt, and restart ASSP ( save the changes ).
